2008 Fall Programs

Booklovers - This group meets at 10am on the first and third Tuesday morning of each month to discuss whatever books they have been reading and share about their favorite titles and authors. New members are always welcome!

Book Discussion Group - This group of adults reads the selected book for each month and then gets together at 7pm on the third Wednesday of each month to discuss the title and share in some free refreshments. The book for October is What We Keepby Elizabeth Berg .

Computer Classes   

Computer Basics - This class is for anyone with little or no computer experience. A workshop designed for beginning computer users. Learn how to use the mouse with an online tutorial and work in a Windows environment. Basic computer vocabulary will also be covered. Session A: Thursdays, September 25 & October 2: 9:00 – 10:00 am. Session B: Mondays, November 17 & 24 2:00-3:00 pm.

Microsoft Word - This class will cover screen layout, tips for typing in Word, some basic editing such as selecting, replacing, inserting, using bullets and spell checking, using Print Preview, saving, closing, opening, printing and some helpful quick commands.  Mondays, October 13 & 20: 2:00 – 3:00 pm. 

Microsoft Excel - In this class you will learn some of the necessary steps to create a spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel 2003 for Windows 2000, Me, and XP. You will learn not only how to type various items into the spreadsheet, but also how to copy columns, widen columns, fill columns, add, subtract, multiply, divide, do graphics and a variety of other “things.” Thursdays, November 6 & 13, 9:00 - 10:00 am. 

Basic Internet and E-mail - For this workshop you must know how to type, even if it is the hunt and peck method. This class will cover Internet, Web browsers, home pages, hypertext, menus and toolbars. Also exploring email, including replies, forwards, attachments, and address books; exploring Yahoo!, one of several free email programs. This class will be offered in two-week one-hour sessions. Thursdays, October 23 & 30, 9:00 – 10:00 am.
